About the farm
Goat Paradise is a 120 acre farm located just outside Oxford, New Zealand.
We introduced our first Angora goats in 2014 and have never looked back! They are wonderful animals with curious, intelligent natures.
Angora goats are kept for their soft and lustrous fibre which is called mohair and is shorn twice a year.
The mohair is in high demand and it is sold to local knitting industry, individuals for crafting or for export for fine, top-end garments, suiting and furnishings
Angora goats live for up to 10 years and due to the high value of the fibre they are are not used for meat or milk products.
The flock now numbers over 180 and all of the goats have been born and raised here at Goat Paradise. Kids are born in springtime and stay with their mothers (does) until around 5 months of age.
Alongside the goats, we also farm sheep and cattle. All the animals are grass fed and we operate using regenerative farming practices and prioritise animal welfare.
